In September 2010, MotorSport Vision announced the biggest redvelopment in Snetterton's 60 year history, with the creation of a new 2.99 mile track to transform the Norfolk venue in to the UK's best circuit for competitors, spectators and trackday guests.

The new configuration, labelled the Snetterton 300, was personally designed by MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer, who drew inspiration from iconic sections of the world's foremost racetracks including Monza's Parabolic, the Montreal Casino Hairpin and Imola's Rivazza.

"Circuit layout is something I am passionate about," said Palmer. "I wanted every corner to either be a really exciting driver/rider challenge, or produce a good overtaking opportunity."

In addition to the longest 300 layout, Snetterton can now be used in two further configurations - the 200 layout, which is closest to the original track, and the 100, which utilises the new infield section.

Construction began in November 2010 and staff from contractor the Buckingham Construction Group worked tirelessly, often in challenging weather conditions including heavy snowfall, to complete the project in ten weeks - remarkably ahead of schedule.

The redveloped circuit became operational on 17 February 2011, when the Williams F1 designed JPH1B Formula Two car became the first vehicle to lap the new layout.

It will host its first race meeting, the MSVR Season Starter, on 19/20 March and several of Britain's leading domestic championships including British Superbikes, British Touring Cars and the British F3 and GT Championships will race on the 2.99-mile layout during the year.

MSV has also made further improvements to the venue in order to benefit competitors and spectators, including the creation of a new 20,000 square metre paddock area in the centre of the circuit and the construction of three elevated viewing embankments surrounding the infield section of the track.
